About us
The Homemade Bread Company is a labour of love, personally run by me, Renata Balch. Before launching this venture, I spent six challenging yet rewarding years in recruitment, working at the speed of light in central London. Those years flew by in the blink of an eye. However, my career came to a pause when I gave birth to my son, Jake. I wanted to savour every moment of motherhood and fully enjoy the experience. Becoming a full-time mom was a dream come true, and I embraced my new role with joy. Despite loving every minute of looking after my son, I quietly missed the professional world.
Cooking healthy meals from fresh ingredients has always been my passion, with homemade bread holding a special place in my heart. The aroma of freshly baked bread filling our home, and the joy of creating and sharing something made with love for my family, felt especially right knowing it was free of chemicals and additives. Over the years, I visited many farmers’ markets and sampled various artisan breads, but none quite matched my own.
The idea for The Homemade Bread Company was born one day as I sat on the sofa with my baby beside me, reflecting on how beautiful my bread was. Today, our bread has become quite popular, and I’m eager to build on this success. I am committed to ensuring that every loaf is made with the highest quality ingredients and the same care and love as the bread I bake for my own family.
